Chapter 8 Managing research relationships in the field
Restricted access

The purpose of this chapter is to provide researchers with guidelines for conducting sweet spot research in the practice setting. When scholars leave their offices to conduct research in organizations, they are not often prepared for the challenge of managing research relationships. As a result, the chapter describes a set of issues not normally presented in traditional research methods courses, including finding and establishing relationships with organizations and managers, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and thinking through common practical and ethical challenges.
