The sixth chapter brings the readers’ focus to consider the fragility and sometimes fickle nature of trust to the readers’ attention in their effort to ask: “what upsets trust?” Vulnerability, risk, and tension are explored from viewpoints of school principals and other leaders who have experienced how easily trust can be lost or breached, compared to the efforts to establish it in the first place. This chapter provides some insights into the fragility of trust for administrators, teachers and staff, students and parents.
