Restricted access

Democracy is more and more mediatized and psychologized. Since the people live moment by moment, searching for instant gratifications, the political elite is often guided by opinion polls to pursue our preferences and our whims. That’s why the leadership is more and more followship and public opinion seems more public emotion, since we change ideas and topics very quickly. This triple evolution depends on the gradual replacement of the citizen with the consumer. Our society is mainly a consumer society.
