Introduction to the Handbook on City Logistics and Urban Freight
Full access

This Handbook provides an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of City Logistics and Urban Freight research. It covers all the fundamental issues, and targets a wide audience of researchers, students, and practitioners. Two keynote chapters set the scene for all others. The core is composed of five parts, namely modelling, operations, planning, stakeholder engagement, and innovation. A last keynote chapter concludes by drawing attention to sustainability issues in city logistics and urban freight transport. Even though the Handbook is structured into specific thematic sections, all chapters are strictly interlinked. This introduction explains the genesis, illustrates the structure, and reveals the main content of the Handbook.
