This chapter provides an insider view into the chronicles of the Singapore Convention, focusing on its drafting process and the different factors that contributed to the Convention's finalization and success so far. The Convention emerged in unusual times, entering into force in the midst of a global health crisis, and yet, in the relatively short time it has existed, it has managed to gain high success rates and strike waves in legal discourse. The chapter analyzes the negotiations, spotlighting the process, methods, and composition of the deliberations rather than the Convention's substantive content. We conclude by reviewing the international discourse on the Convention, assessing what the future may hold for it, including as a model for international norm making.
