The academic community is becoming increasingly aware of the fact that, due to a number of obstacles and issues, we are more and more writing for the statistics or metrics, and less and less for the readers. Our writing has become formulaic and devoid of meaning. As a community reaction to this unsettling trend there recently emerged a new turn - of writing differently, which is rapidly gaining momentum. Its roots are to be found in feminist writing which has been drawing attention to the non-linear and personal. To write differently, the author needs to embrace alterity and complexity, and to reject reductionism.
