Chapter 1 Welfare states in turbulent times

The first chapter sets the scene for the book and pointing to a number of the elements which has and is expected to continue influencing the welfare sates development. This also includes a number of challenges for welfare states in turbulent times. It further presents an overview of the different chapters in the book.
