In this chapter, responsible management is examined through the lens of organizational aesthetics. The aesthetic approach to the study of organizational life, in fact, allows us to grasp the relevance of the aesthetic appreciation of responsible management, which resides in the intimate link between the aesthetic side and the ethical dimension of the social practices activated for the responsible management of organizational processes. This interweaving of “beauty” and “good” highlighted by the aesthetic understanding of responsible management is further illustrated and discussed in the chapter by referring to “Italian industrial design” created at Olivetti, a manufacturer of typewriters and computers: its design has become the international emblem of Italian design for its deep connection with Olivetti's responsible and humanistic management.
