This chapter discusses responsible management from the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) perspective, contained in papal, episcopal and conciliar documents. This is addressed primarily to Catholics, but they are also offered to all people of good will. CST gives a great importance to free will and personal responsibility and to a sound ethical foundation of responsibility. Regarding responsible management, CST does not present sustainability, responsibility, and ethics as three added theories, but as a consistent comprehensive approach, which at the core is a person-centered ethics. This leads to a manager being responsible for all stakeholders, and not only for shareholders, who has great respect for human dignity and human development.
